What is this project about?
Individual Healthcare Plans (IHCPs) are plans held by schools for children and young people who have long-term health conditions that need managing while they are at school. Examples include allergies, epilepsy, and asthma. The process of making, reviewing and following these documents has been challenging for everyone involved, causing concern for the safety of children and young people at school. This is why ECHO have been leading a project involving people who work in the relevant settings, as well as parents and carers, to understand the issues and what solutions might help to make the system work better for everyone.
