What to expect
Before any support or treatment happens, consent and confidentiality will be explained to children and young people, including our safeguarding responsibilities.
We have one specialist sexual health nurse so children and young people will always see the same person, her name is Diane and she is very kind and caring.
Diane will check with children and young people that the space feels safe and is confidential before giving them the opportunity to say what support they need in their own words; it is understandable that children and young people may feel worried or embarrassed talking about their sexual health and relationships, but Diane will listen, will never judge no matter what, and will give them the time to talk.
All available support or treatment options will be discussed so that children and young people can make an informed decision about their care.
