Information about consent

Information about consent & confidentiality:

Safe East provides health care. To receive care from us you will need to provide consent. This means you agree to receiving care, having information about you and your care kept as a record, and for information about you to be shared. We only need consent from you – not your parent, carer, or family. If you choose to inform them or involve them in your care that is your choice.

We treat information about you and your care as private. There are times when we need to pass information on without your consent to keep you or someone else safe; we will usuallytalk to you first about this.

I’m a child or young person:

Safe east can offer you support around vaping, drug & alcohol and sexual health, at a time and place that suits you. Our nurses and workers can arrange to visit you at school, in your local youth centre, or you can come to our offices.

Drug and alcohol support for you will be kept confidential, the care and support you receive will depend on your needs. We will help you to reduce the impact of drug and alcohol on your health and wellbeing. We will explore this with you through a range of ways that support you.

Contraception and sexual health support for you will be kept confidential, unless there is a risk of serious harm. Our friendly nurse will give you advice and will take time to explain your choices to you.
